Its official:High Heels Are Meeting Their Slow Demise

Are high heels losing their steam? If you’ve swapped shoes for comfy flats and sneakers-like Ashley Olsen- you’re not only one. Yahoo! Style reported a study conducted by a market analysis company called Mintel, which reveals insights into which shoe styles women are really buying right now.

The study analyzed the shopping habits of the UK women in particular, and found that for the first time ever, more UK women are buying sneakers than high heels. Specifically, 37% of the UK women who have bought footwear in the last year bought trainers, compared to the 33% who bought shoes with a heel. The only shoes more popular than sneakers are flats.

Mintels senior fashion analyst, Tamara Sender offered more insights in a statement: ” the UK sportswear market has seen strong growth in the last year, and there has been a trend for consumers to integrate sports clothing into their daily wardrobes, meaning trainers have also become more popular among women, overtaking heels to become the second favourite inter of footwear,” she explained in the report.

Ready to swap put of your heels? Keep reading to shop of my favourite sneaker in the market right now!

Adidas Gazelle Sneakers (80$)

The navy suede material makes the shoes look a lot more expensive than they actually are.

8 Basic Fashion stylist tips you should know

Hey Loves, so the other day I posted a blog about wanting to do tips on fashion and ALOT of you were emailing me about how you would love to see the tips I have in store. Being a fashion student I believe that I would really be able to help you lovelies.

  1. CHOOSE YOUR CLOTHES ACCORDING TO YOUR BODY TYPE

Some things look great on plastic dolls and plastic dolls only which, of course, doesn’t mean you should give up in your search for a perfect outfit.

I’m not lying to you, ladies, I’ve seen smoking hot gals turn barely average after trying something that looked amazing on a doll in the shop window.

You must be aware of your flaws and your virtues and focus on clothes that will bring out only the best of your features.

2. LOOK AND FEEL SLIM WITH ULTRA TRENDY PRINTS AND ASYMMETRIC CLOTHES

Prints are ultra popular this year and the same goes for asymmetric tunics and dresses so, if you have some extra pounds you’d like to hide, this should be very good news for you.

Choose vertical patterns, prints that make you look slim and asymmetric tunics and dresses that do have some shape – remember that nobody looks good in shapeless clothes.

3. BELTS ARE A MUST HAVE

Cute, eye-catching, funky, bold – a good belt is always a great investment because this simple accessory can make or break the entire outfit.

But, this simple accessory does more than that – it also accents your waist making your legs appear longer and leaner.

So, if you have a baggy tunic, cardigan or a simple dress, don’t think twice about it, add an interesting belt!

And the next time you go shopping, remember this fashion stylist tips and pick a nice belt or two to glam up your favorite outfits.

4. SHOP FOR OUTFITS

Don’t shop for single pieces simply because they are cheap, cute or both because you know you’ll never wear them. Shop for outfits instead and before you decide to buy some piece of clothes, try to think of at least three different outfits you can wear it with. If you follow the shoes + bag rule and could never work mismatching shoes and bag, always buy your shoes and bags together to make sure they are a perfect match.

5.  ACCESSORIES CAN SAVE THE DAY

Anything can be a new black if you have the right accessories!

You can wear purple, turquoise, navy, beige, brown or even white dress and still look like a million bucks but the only thing you must remember is to accessorize properly.

A single color outfit will make you slimmer and taller so, in order to keep this flattering visual effect, and loose nothing on charm, I suggest an interesting necklace and a bracelet.

A statement piece could be your secret weapon although you shouldn’t really wear more than one statement piece in the same time.

6. ALWAYS WEAR MATCHING UNDERGARMENTS

The next one of my favorite, totally basic fashion stylist tips is underwear so, if you don’t want to look like a luggage, you should definitely pay attention to what you’re wearing under your clothes.

Even the most minimal thongs can show if the bands are too tight and we all know that’s not a pretty sight so, before you leave your home, make sure you check yourself for underwear lines too.

7. PRACTICE THE SHOPPING DIET

Popular celebrity stylist Phillip Bloch says we shouldn’t buy dresses we’ll use just onces but invest in things we can wear in many ways instead.

Black, is apparently, out of the picture, so feel free to focus on different colors and make sure the dress or the skirt you’ve chosen can be accessorized to look differently each time you wear it.

8. BE UNIQUE

One of the things we all like in models is their ability to combine the most ridiculous pieces of clothes and look smoking hot in them.

Why can’t we to the same?

Check you closets and your favorite thrift stores because you never know what kind of treasure you might find there.

Did you know a woman actually managed to find an authentic Chanel bag in a thrift store?

Yup, I think she paid about 30 or 50 bucks for it!

Fashion is cool, trends are cool and there is always a way to incorporate them into your style.

You can be classy, modern and chic on a budget and under your terms!

Any fashion stylist tips you’d like to add?

I’d say it’s all about accessorizing and making sure you not only like what you see in the mirror but remain critical enough to tell when something is obviously wrong.

These mentioned above are my favorite, basic Fashion Stylist Tips that I think every women should know so, if you missed out on any of those before, now you have them all in one place!

hope you enjoyed these very basic fashion tips

The Do’s of contouring your face; for beginners

Hey my loves, extremely apologizing for taking to so long to get my next post out…. I’ve been dealing with some stuff and haven’t found the right time to post on here, but I trying my best to get all the content I wanted to post out within this week to make it up to you lovely people.

So I feel like this post is extremely important because if you are just getting out into the makeup world contouring your face is so difficult, I remember I always had trouble getting it right. With a lot of practice and makeup videos I was finally able to get it 100% perfect. Thats what I want to do with this post if your feeling like your contour can use some tweaks then Ill make sure I get everything down that you would need to know, lets get started…

Makeup artists use many different methods to contour the face; I prefer to use powders after I’ve applied foundation, whereas some will use a cream coverage under or over the base. Follow my tips on how to contour your face to help you achieve the look you want.

Contouring is all about creating shadow and light to alter the shape of the face, maybe to give the illusion of higher cheekbones, a slimmer face or shorten the nose.

Different face shapes need different contouring or shaping, some will need more highlighting while others will use more contouring to help create the shape you are after.

First thing to decide is what is your face shape, then be guided by this diagram as to where to contour, where to highlight or maybe just use blusher.

contour

BASIC STEPS IN HOW TO CONTOUR

  1. Sweep your contour colour under your cheekbone using a soft, angled brush. You can find your cheekbone easily using your fingers – the colour should go in the hollow just beneath it. At this point the colour will look quite strong, but don’t panic! This is where we blend; using your fingers, blend the line upwards. If you blend down, you will lose the height of your cheekbone and your face will just look muddy.
  2. Blend the contour colour into the hairline. This will help give your skin a healthy glow and disguise a large or flat forehead.
  3. To make your nose look straighter, use your fingers to rub a little contour powder along the sides of your nose. Blend well. Don’t go right to the tip of your nose or it will end up looking too thin. If you want your nose to appear shorter, run a little contour along the nostrils.
  4. If your chin is starting to droop a little, just sweep a touch of contour powder under the jaw line to instantly hide any saggy bits and look years younger.
  5. My top tip when contouring: to get that celebrity look, brush a little bit of the contour powder above the inner corner of your eye up to the brow – you’ll instantly see your eyes look more defined and really pop!

BASIC STEPS IN HOW TO HIGHLIGHT

  1. Highlighter reflects the light well, so only apply it to the places you want to draw attention to. Sweep it above the cheekbone, along the brow bone and down the centre of your nose to give the impression of a rounded surface.
  2. As a finishing touch, dab a little bit of highlighter onto your cupid’s bow (the little dip in your upper lip).
  3. TOP TIP: to make your cheekbones really stand out, using a large powder brush, sweep a loose face powder like my INVISIBLE VEIL POWDER along the lower jaw, under where we’ve applied the contour for the cheekbone.

Contouring an Oblong or Square Face
Start by contouring the corners of your face to make them appear less angular, slim your face down and give it a softer edge. By adding highlight to your forehead and chin you give your face more dimension and a less flat appearance.

Contouring a Heart Shape
As your face is quite angular to start off with, you are just the features of your face. Highlighting under the eye area will bring cheekbones forwards, detracting away from the width of your face, by highlighting your forehead and chin your adding more definition and give a gentle sheen to the skin. With contouring successfully you can narrow a wide forehead, soften a strong jaw line and draw the eye away from a strong or prominent chin.

Contouring a Triangular Face
The reason for contouring is to bring the narrow and broad areas into proportion with each other in order to appear similar to the oval shaped face. Contour along the jaw line and highlight at the temples makes these areas more prominent and balances out the middle portion of the face. Highlight under the eyes to give your face the illusion of cheekbones

Contouring a Round Face
As your face is round you need to add some structure back into your face so it appears more oval. You will need quite a bit of contouring on the temples, cheekbones and the sides of the jawline which will give you more definition. Use the highlighter on your chin and forehead which will bring these areas forward and create angles to the face. You can also create fuller looking lips by highlighting you Cupid’s bow.

Contouring an Oval Face
By highlighting successfully you will bring areas of your face into focus and make them more prominent. If it’s cheekbones you are after then contour similar to the Round face shape.

Surprise!

Hey loves! so I know I went a little ghost… my family and I decided to go on vacation to our cottage it was extremely relaxing and needed, but I’m back and I’m better ( verse from don’t-Bryson Tiller, one of my fav songs). With that being said I looked at my phone the other day and saw over 100 followers, this is a HUGE accomplishment for me because when I first started this I wasn’t expecting to have over 100 people enjoying my content. So thank you everyone so much, seeing it that day almost made me cry even though to some people having 100 followers means nothing to them and it may not be a big deal but to me it really means everything. This was a huge motivation for me, I promise to keep posting posts that you guys enjoy!

I decided that once I hit 135 followers I’m going to be doing a giveaway so please stay on the lookout, of course when the time comes ill make a post about it explaining it.

Once again thank you all so much, I really do appreciate it I’m one step closer to my dreams everyday. Love you all.

here are just 2 pretty plain pictures of this long weekend

8 biggest makeup mistakes that age you

Hey lovelies!!!

Wow did I miss you guys, I feel like I haven’t actually sat down and posted in awhile even though it was yesterday. I’ve been posting through my phone a lot lately just because I’ve been so busy, I finally had some free time to actually sit down in front of the computer so I decided to spend that free time blogging for my beauties!

With that being said lets get into it, I’m going to be talking about 8 makeup mistakes that would age you quickly. We all know the chemicals in our makeup is pretty bad for our skin, so its so important that we are extremely careful when applying our makeup etc.

It’s not called a beauty “routine” for nothing: Once we find a set of makeup products we like—say, in our 20s—too many of us avoid switching things up, sometimes for years on end. In fact, in a recent Prevention.com poll, over 30% of respondents said they “hadn’t changed a thing” about their beauty routine in more than 10 years! Meanwhile, trends evolve, colors go in and out of style, and the products and application techniques that flatter young, firm skin do us no favors as we age—not to mention, many of us just aren’t sure how to minimize fine lines, dark circles, and other signs of aging in a way that’s fresh and flattering.

Foundation foul-up

When fine lines settle in and sun spots multiply, many women reach for foundation, layering it on like it’s going out of style. Unfortunately, instead of hiding imperfections, the more-is-better strategy brings attention to them. Excess product has nowhere to go but to settle into creases, which exaggerates wrinkles, and thick layers piled on top of each other create a dated, masklike complexion.

For smooth, flawless-looking skin, choose a lightweight liquid foundation over a powder. Look for an easy-absorbing fluid formula such as Maybelline New York Fit Me! Foundation ($8; drugstores); it moisturizes skin and is easier to blend than powders, which can turn chalky and leave behind a dull, flat finish, a trait we associate with older skin. Squeeze a nickel-size amount in your palm and rub it on like you would a moisturizer. Applying with your fingers instead of a brush eliminates the chance of product overload.

Caked-on concealer

The problem arises when women use the same trusty spot concealer for other issues, such as hiding dark under-eye circles. A cover-up that’s thick enough to hide a pimple is likely to have a tacky, heavy consistency that’s too rich for the delicate thin skin under the eyes. Instead, use a sheer formula such as Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Fast Fix Concealer Inspired by Carmindy ($9; drugstores) to camouflage circles. Tap on with a concealer brush and blend with your finger for the most natural finish, and you’ll foil signs of exhaustion without compromising a youthful appearance.

Runny mascara

While waterproof mascara is less prone to smudging, the stronger formulas can dry out lashes, which can become thinner and more fragile as we age. To get full-looking lashes these 2 tips will help

  1. To give the illusion that skimpy lashes are thick, smudge a chocolate brown eyebrow pencil like CoverGirl Brow & Eye Makers Pencil in midnight brown ($4; drugstores) along the roots of the lash line.
  2. To coat and seal delicate lashes, choose a gentle mascara such as Blinc Mascara ($25; blincinc.com). It’s made with polymers that form a tube around each lash to prevent smudging, yet it comes off easily with warm water.
Metallic lids

Like the ’80s obsession with perms, every trend must come to an end. One of the hardest for women to kick: frosty eye shadow. When eyelids become less taut, usually around age 40, it’s time to graduate from the glitter. Shimmer shadows settle into crinkles, magnifying crepey lids.

Matte shadows such as Maybelline ExpertWear Eyeshadow in pink petal ($4; drugstores), on the other hand, are extremely flattering. Taupes, lavenders, soft peaches, and grays work on all skin tones. Want to up the drama? Incorporate eyeliner in a jewel tone such as garnet or plum for a pop of color. To create the illusion of a lifted eye, avoid heavy liner on the bottom lash and apply it to the upper, outer corners of the eyes.

 Vampire red lips

It’s an age-old fact: a dark color, be it on your floor, wall, or even lips, makes any surface area look smaller. Because lips naturally lose fullness over time, the last thing we want to do is shrink them. Plus, deep hues make teeth look less white. For lips that look juicy, wear vibrant lip glosses and lipsticks. To instantly update your look, slick on a sheer version of popular lip colors such as coral or hibiscus—try CoverGirl NatureLuxe Gloss Balm ($6; drugstores), a line that’s full of fresh, youthful shades.

Sunken cheeks

Women always choose blah cheek colors because they’re afraid of color. The reality is that bright blush actually brings youth and vitality to the face, helping to restore the look of fullness to sallow cheeks. Ditch dusty browns and roses and go for a cream formula in a floral shade. Creams blend better than powders and add the extra moisture mature skin needs.

One to try: Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip and Cheek Stain in Forever Pink ($25; shop.janeiredale.com). To apply, start by positioning your brush higher on the cheeks, then blend the blush downward toward the apples. This technique creates a more modern finish, compared with the pink stripes up to the temples that were popular back in the day.

Overplucked Brows

It’s important to resist the urge to overpluck brows, especially as we age. Overtweezing can make brows disappear entirely, and those strands may never grow back. Thankfully, there are brow pencils and powders like Sonia Kashuk Arch Alert Brow Kit ($10; Target) that can bring sparse hairs back to their fullest potential.

To apply, start at the inner brow and work your way outward using a stiff, angled brush or sharp brow pencil, whichever you prefer, and make short, feathery strokes.

Powder overload

There’s a fine line between glowing and greasy skin, and many of us aren’t sure where it is. The biggest mistake women make when trying to control shine is forgetting to leave a little of that natural glow. One too many pats of powder can wash out the dimension from your face. A little glisten makes you look fresh.

To tone down oil without going overboard, use a lightweight pressed powder containing oil-absorbing mica and silica like makeup artist favorite MAC Blot Powder Pressed ($24; maccosmetics.com). Dust it on with a small blush-size powder brush rather than a big dome brush, which can dump powder like a bulldozer. For touch-ups throughout the day, I recommend using the compact’s puff and tapping it onto, rather than rubbing it across, the skin, a technique that promises to deposit just enough product without crossing the line.

I hope all you loves enjoyed! Cause I enjoyed giving you these tips!:)
